An emailed approval link was unknown, already used, replaced by a newer email, past its 24-hour limit, or voided by a final decision. Each answers the same way, at the same speed, so a guess learns nothing.

What to do

Open Console › Approvals, which always has the latest. Approval links work once, for one person, for up to 24 hours.

The message is for a person and can get more exact over time: branch on type and code, never on the message.
