Remote MCP servers
The mcp_http connector puts a remote MCP server behind the Gate. Clients connect to /mcp/<name> with their agent key; Deedglass connects upstream with the server’s own credential from the vault.

Behaviour
Section titled “Behaviour”- Inbound credentials are stripped before anything goes upstream. Each session is keyed by a MAC of the upstream credential.
- Upstream tools have the side effect
unknownand connector typemcp_http. Write policy rules per tool. - Tool names that aren’t plain ASCII are hidden and logged.
- A stopped agent’s
tools/callis recorded and sealed, then refused. - Both MCP eras are served: 2026-07-28 with mirrored-header checks, and the 2025 revisions through
initialize.
What it doesn’t do
Section titled “What it doesn’t do”- Results are the upstream’s words: L0 Reported.
- Tool descriptions that carry instructions aren’t rewritten.
- There’s no OAuth to the upstream in this release: a static credential only.
