fake (dev only)

The fake connector exists only when DEEDGLASS_ENV=dev. Its tools let you try the Gate, policies and the Witness without any real system:

Tool What it does
fake.echo Returns its arguments. A read.
fake.write Pretends to write and returns success.
fake.fail Fails, as a tool that certainly didn’t apply.
fake.slow Waits, to try timeouts and unknown outcomes.

In prod the name fake is reserved, and no connector can use it.
